🌍
National footprint

Since 2018, the programme has supported 440+ female entrepreneurs from 14 governorates across Egypt.

👥 500+ jobs created

LSL-supported ventures have collectively created more than 500 jobs — demonstrating that founder-centered support creates lasting economic impact well beyond the programme cycle.

Why LSL exists

Women founders need more than inspiration — they need access, structure, and a support system that works.

In Egypt and across the MENA region, women-led businesses face a persistent financing gap, lower access to networks and mentors, and limited visibility within the wider innovation ecosystem. Ladies Startups League responds directly to these realities — not through generic entrepreneurship content, but through a programme designed around how women actually build ventures.

Why gender-responsive support matters in Egypt
~15%
female labour force participation in Egypt — among the lowest globally
~5%
of formal finance in MENA reaches women-owned businesses
2–3×
higher growth outcomes when women founders receive structured mentoring
Clearer founder journey from MVP and early stage toward stronger validation and pitch readiness
Women-focused community and peer learning that continues beyond a single cohort
Practical support through workshops, mentoring, business-plan development, and Untap modules
Stronger visibility through partner engagement, funding exposure, and wider ecosystem connection
Cohort sequence — 2018 → today

FAQs

Who is Ladies Startups League for?
LSL is designed for women founders and women-led or co-led startup teams, especially at MVP or early stage, who want structured support to validate, build, and grow their ventures.
Do I need to have a registered company?
Not always. Depending on the cycle, solo founders may apply and early-stage ventures can join before full formal registration, provided they meet the programme's stage and commitment requirements.
What kind of support should I expect?
A typical cycle combines outreach and selection, pre-incubation and incubation activities, bootcamps, one-to-one mentoring, Untap-based self-paced learning, business-plan development, and pitch preparation.
Is the programme limited to Alexandria?
No. LSL has built a broader footprint across Egypt and has supported founders from 14 governorates, with delivery models that can combine physical and virtual engagement depending on the cycle.
How does YIEP relate to LSL?
LSL operates under the YIEP (Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program) framework — a U.S. Embassy-funded initiative implemented by ICEALEX. What began as the Women in Progress (WiP!) track has evolved into the Ladies Startups League as the flagship women-focused incubation offer within YIEP.
