Creativa Damanhour is a direct expression of icealex's third strategic pillar — Innovation Hub Development — which focuses on designing, operating, and activating innovation hubs, community spaces, and regional entrepreneurship delivery models across Egypt, Africa, and beyond.
Through this pillar, icealex doesn't just run programmes — it builds the infrastructure that allows ecosystems to self-sustain: physical hubs, partner networks, community organizations, and shared innovation pipelines rooted in local contexts.
Creativa Innovation Hubs are a national initiative under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, designed to expand access to technology, entrepreneurship and innovation services across Egypt's governorates. Creativa Damanhour serves Beheira and the Western Delta as a regional access point for digital empowerment, startup development and local ecosystem activation.
Operated by icealex, the hub functions as a practical delivery platform, not only a venue — translating national innovation priorities into local opportunities, structured pipelines and measurable outcomes. Since launch, it has reached 5,700+ participants across 257+ training days and 138+ mentoring days, with female participation at 56.2%.
icealex connects Creativa Damanhour to its wider network — including Startups of Africa, Ladies Startups League, Egypt Cities Hackathon and the Sustainability Innovation Award — creating pathways that extend well beyond the Delta and into continental and global ecosystems.

Creativa Damanhour is a delivery node for icealex's flagship programming — including the Egypt Cities Hackathon, one of the country's largest multi-city innovation sprints. Alongside the pre-incubation pathway and the hub's four tracks, these events are the highest-intensity activations in the hub's annual calendar: structured competitions where participants across all four tracks converge, collaborate across backgrounds, and present validated solutions to a panel of mentors and investors drawn from icealex's national and continental network.
Hackathon teams are deliberately mixed across tracks — a developer from Technology alongside a founder from Entrepreneurship alongside a freelancer from the Remote Work track. icealex's facilitation methodology ensures every solution benefits from diverse skills and lived experience across Beheira's communities.
The hackathon is not a standalone event — it feeds directly into the hub's pre-incubation pathway. High-performing teams are fast-tracked into icealex's incubation rounds, startup follow-up programmes, and referred to wider funding pathways via Startups of Africa and the Sustainability Innovation Award.
